This rare large Arts & Crafts oak plan chest has been beautifully adapted into a substantial coffee table with a warm golden oak finish inspired by the classic Ercol style. Dating from approximately 1900–1930, it features four large original drawers with attractive brass handles and name plates, offering excellent storage as well as plenty of character.
Recently repolished throughout, including the back, this impressive and extremely heavy piece can be displayed in the centre of a room and would suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. Originally designed as a plan chest, it has been transformed into a substantial oak storage piece and professionally repolished in a warm golden oak finish inspired by the classic Ercol look. The chest has been repolished throughout, including the back, allowing it to sit comfortably in the centre of a room.
Featuring four large original drawers, this exceptional piece provides a generous amount of useful storage. The drawers are complemented by attractive original brass handles and name plates, adding character and authenticity to this impressive antique. We date the chest between 1900 and 1930, making it a distinctive piece of Arts & Crafts furniture with considerable age and charm.
This is an extremely heavy and substantial item and will require two people to move safely. Its versatile design would work beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors, whether used as a coffee table, storage chest or statement furniture piece.
Dimensions: Height 20″, internal height 3″, width 48″, depth 38″. Additional internal measurements are approximately 42″ wide and 33″ deep.
